This bilingual catalogue is a timely tribute to an internationally acclaimed artist who has lived and worked in the Ottawa region for many years. As an artist and teacher, Michael Schreier is a compelling presence in Ottawa’s visual art milieu. This catalogue was published in association with a solo exhibition of Schreier’s work which featured his meticulously-rendered photographs that offer us entry into bygone histories located in other places that continue to resonate within both our individual and collective memories. Seventeen pages of vivid colour reproductions are included, and an original text by Emily Falvey succinctly locates Schreier’s work within his larger artistic practice.
